SIMPLE HOME REMEDIES
1. If you are choking on an ice cube, simply pour a cup of boiling water down your throat. Presto! The blockage will instantly remove itself!
2. Avoid cutting yourself slicing vegetables by getting someone else to hold them while you chop.
3. Avoid arguments with the Mrs. about lifting the toilet seat by using the sink.
4. For high blood pressure sufferers: simply cut yourself and bleed for a few minutes, thus reducing the pressure in your veins. Remember to use a timer.

5. A mouse trap, placed on top of your alarm clock, will prevent you from rolling over and going back to sleep after you hit the snooze button.

6. If you have a bad cough, take a large dose of laxatives - then you'll be afraid to cough.
7. You only need two tools in life: Duct Tape and WD-40. If it moves and it shouldn't, use the duct tape....
...If it doesn't move and it should, us the WD-40.
There....now don't say that I was never helpful!

OF MAC 'N CHEESE, FLOWERS AND BLIZZARDS
Wow! What a crazy couple of weeks it's been! We have been moving my in laws into their new house, and although it has been a lot of work, it has also been a blessing spending time with all of Pete's family. His parents really seem to like their new surroundings and, after a few modifications, the house should suit their needs really well!
Unbeknownst to me, sometime during all of the craziness, Jazzy brought my two youngest nieces, Karlee and Andraya, over to cook mac 'n cheese. Glad she took some pictures!
Andraya, tending to the water.
Karlee, doing what she does best. Hey....there are cooks and there are drama queens :-)
The finished product. Sure looks yummy!
Last Saturday, my sister-in-law, June, and I were talking about what flowers would be like in Heaven (June thinks of stuff like this...I, on the other hand, have black thumbs and kill just about every plant I touch, although I haven't killed one yet this year!). She pointed out that the flowers in heaven would probably never die and sparkle like diamond dust. I had never thought about it before, but wow! I bet she's right! Hard to believe they could be a whole lot more beautiful than they are here on earth. It inspired me to take some pictures of flowers we have in our own yard.
A hanging Begonia plant that Pete picked up.
Our Rose of Sharon tree.
Our potted day lilies.
For mother's day, Phill bought me a hibiscus tree that is three trees braided up into one. Unfortunately, only two of the three colors of blossoms were in bloom the day I took these pictures. The three colors are orange, as the above picture shows, pink, and....

...yellow.
As most of you know, I have been going to Weight Watchers since January of this year. Although the road ahead is still long, I have been very pleased with the results. I have already dropped down three sizes! YAY! I did very well on my points today, and since my sister surprised us with some gift certificates from Dairy Queen the other day, I had my first Blizzard in 7 1/2 months. Yanno....I don't know who made up the saying that "nothing tastes as good as being thin feels".....they lie! That Banana Dream Pie Blizzard was FANTASTIC!
