I just finished this book tonight and decided to write a review on it. Although I really like John Fischer's daily insights at his site, Fishtank, I was not overly impressed with this book.
The book is written in journal form, and mentions the word "coffee" or "Starbucks" so many times that it becomes really distracting and annoying. Although I was able to glean a few things out of the book that I found insightful or helpful, for the most part, I just wanted to shout out to him "get over yourself already!" I did enjoy the last 4 chapters of the book, but it focused much less on Christianity and told about the stories of people he has met along the way.
If you really want to get to know the quirks of this author, then it's a good book to read. If you are looking for some spiritual insight, there was little in there to draw off of.
Although I was not overly impressed with this book, I have not given up on this author yet. I also have purchased his book Good Christians Don't (with an X through the "don't") Dance. I'm hoping it will be more insightful than this book, and I hope and pray it doesn't mention Starbucks. If you are interested in reading this book, feel free to borrow it from me.
